Q. Do I have to be a veteran to live at Lincoln Apartments?

A: Lincoln Apartments was built to provide homeless military veterans with a quality, permanent, supportive place to call home. Thus, during our leasing process we will be giving preference to homeless veterans. Upon applying for occupancy, you must provide a copy of your DD Form 214 with your application. If you do not have a copy of your DD Form 214, we will be happy to assist you in the process of obtaining one through the VA.

Q: What types of units are available at Lincoln Apartments?

A: We have two types of units at Lincoln: Studio (Efficiency) and One-Bedroom. Below the FAQ section on this page you can find more specific information on the features of each unit in the “Unit Features” section.

Q: How much does it cost to live at Lincoln Apartments?

A: Qualified residents will pay no more than 30% of their income for rent.

Q: Are utilities included in the rent at Lincoln Apartments?

A: Yes, all utilities (water, electric, and gas) are provided at Lincoln Apartments. The only utilities that are not provided are cable television and landline phone.

Q: Do the apartments come fully furnished?

A: Yes, our apartments come fully furnished with electric range, oven, refrigerator, microwave, and a dishwasher. Rooms also come with a bed, end tables, sofa, and dining table with chairs. Laundry facilities are located on each floor of the facility.

Q: What transportation options are available at the apartments?

A: There are several of transportation options for Lincoln Apartments residents:

Parking
We a have a parking lot available to residents free of charge. Parking spaces are subject to availability and must be registered through the property manager.

Bike

Lincoln Residents may store their bicycles in our secure indoor storage facility at the apartments.

Public Transportation
We are located just off the IndyGo Bus Route 3 along West Michigan Street. For more information on IndyGo, please visit their website at www.indygo.net.

Q: Since Lincoln Apartments is a permanent supportive housing development, am I required as a resident to use the support services? (i.e. Case management, career training, etc..)

A: No, as a resident of Lincoln Apartments you are not obligated or required to use the support services that are available at the apartments. They are available to you, however, and you are encouraged to take advantage of them as well as the many other community events and opportunities that take place at Lincoln.

Lincoln Unit Features


Our Studio (Efficiency) units are 381 sq. ft in size. They feature a kitchenette, full bathroom, full walk-in storage closet, and a combined living and bedroom that is furnished with a twin sized bed, chest and end tables, dining table with chairs. Our studio units only allow for one person to live in the unit.

Our One-Bedroom units are 682 sq. ft in size. They have a separate bedroom that comes with a full sized mattress, built in closet, and a chest for storage. They also feature full bathroom, kitchenette, and a combined dining and living room that come furnished with a dining table with chairs and a sofa and coffee table.
